The amount and quality of sleep you get each night can greatly impact your health and wellbeing, but often poor sleep can be the sign of a serious health problem. The Coshocton Hospital Sleep Disorder Center can perform sleep studies to help determine why you’re unable to fall asleep, wake frequently or are unable to get a restful night’s sleep.
In most cases, testing is done during an overnight stay in one of our sleep center rooms, where your sleep will be monitored and studied closely by our highly-trained respiratory therapists and sleep specialists. During the test, your brain waves, muscle activity, breathing, and eye movements will all be electronically monitored and recorded while you sleep in a hotel room-lile setting.
We offer a variety of specific tests including:
- Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT)
- Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT)
- Polysomnograph (sleep apnea test)
Once your diagnosis has been confirmed, we can provide you with the treatment you need including:
- Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) titration
- Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) titration
If fitted with a titration device, our respiratory therapists will work with you as you adjust to the equipment so you can begin to experience the advantages of a good night’s sleep. Located on the third floor of the hospital, our sleep center services are available through physician referral and can be reached by calling (740) 623-4365.
